Ramsey has been a lawyer since 2006 and joined the Oregon bar in 2020. Ramsey loves working with creative professionals and advises his clients on an array of legal matters to help them pursue their ambitions and achieve their goals.
Ramsey brings a rigorous educational background and diverse work experience / legal skillset when working with clients. He began his legal career after college working as a paralegal-investigator for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. After law school, Ramsey clerked for the Hon. William Hoeveler of U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, then practiced corporate law at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP in New York City.
While practicing law in New York, Ramsey developed a core appreciation for working with athletes, agents, and sports inspired businesses. He enjoys the dynamic legal landscape of sports and advises athletes and agents in contract negotiations, business projects, and endorsement deals, including representing several family members featured in The Long Game: Bigger Than Basketball, released on Apple TV+ in 2022.
Ramsey continues to leverage his professional experience and love of sports and athletics to support his clients, as well as the next generation of young professionals. As an Adjunct Instructor working remotely at New York University’s Tisch Institute for Global Sport, Ramsey teaches Sports Law to undergraduate students. He has also taught NYU courses in sports business development, antitrust law, and contracts and negotiations. When it comes to athletes and sports enthusiasts at all levels launching businesses in the Pacific Northwest, Ramsey is a trusted partner, advisor and advocate.
After two decades of annual trips to visit family in Portland, Ramsey finally moved here in 2020. His extensive legal background uniquely positions him to support PNW business owners, sports related and otherwise, on legal matters related to business formation, corporate governance, business contracts, intellectual property rights, sales and acquisitions, and real estate transactions.

Ramsey loves the great outdoors, and Portland’s proximity to the mountains and Pacific coast provides endless possibilities for fun. When not working, you can find him hiking at Mt. Rainier, playing pickup hoops in the park, having fun at the beach, or snowshoeing up at Mt. Hood with his wife and kids. And if you listen carefully on a warm summer evening, you might even catch him serenading his NE Portland neighbors with ‘90s rock anthems on his electric guitar. His amp goes to 11.
Eli has been an attorney since 2013. He found his passion for business and entrepreneurship in college while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business. He began working for businesses in a legal role when he interned at Nike Europe in the Netherlands and clerked at the Lewis & Clark Small Business Legal Clinic in Portland, Oregon. From these experiences, Eli found supporting both large and small businesses to be extremely rewarding. This led him to focus his legal career on helping businesses succeed and centering his practice on business transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Eli served as in-house counsel for a mid-sized patient financial engagement company, positioning him to view legal needs from a client’s perspective. He brings to the firm his experience negotiating and drafting contracts, counseling businesses on regulatory compliance, and advising on corporate governance.

On drier Portland days Eli can be found on his bicycle, training for a one-day finish at the Seattle to Portland Bike Ride. On rainier Portland days he can be found indoors watching soccer (MLS and EPL), fencing (epée, of course), and playing board and card games. And on virtually any type of day, he can be found wine-tasting with his wife, an oenophile who has sparked a love for wine in Eli as well.
Andrew has been an attorney since 2005, and has worked in the legal industry since 2000. Prior to starting this firm, he worked for two years for a trial judge in Chicago, Illinois, and later worked in private practice for another five years for a national law firm that focused on securities litigation and regulation. As part of that practice, he counseled broker and broker-dealer clients on SEC, FINRA and other securities laws, and also served as outside in-house counsel to a number of smaller broker-dealer firms based on the West Coast.
Andrew developed his own niche practice in offering transactional legal services to entrepreneurs and business owners, helping clients start up and expand their businesses, establish trademarks, draft contracts, and generally assisting those clients in many of the other legal issues that small businesses encounter on a daily basis. Knowing that numerous other businesses needed assistance with these types of legal services, he decided to focus his practice on this niche area and open up this firm in 2013.
Unlike many other business lawyers, Andrew has an in depth understanding of not only corporate law, but also complex securities laws. He also has started up and run an entirely separate company, and personally participated in the entire life cycle of that company — he formed, managed, and eventually sold part of it off.

Andrew tries to spend as much time as possible being active outdoors and exploring his backyard in the Columbia River Gorge with his lovely wife, Ash, and son, Finley and daughter, Juniper.
Through the firm, he also sponsors the NW Corporate Law Scholarship to help law students offset some of the costs associated with law school.
Josh grew up in Portland, Oregon and after earning his bachelor’s degree at Oregon State University in 2004, he began his professional career in Manufacturing Management. As an avid learner committed to continual development, he made the decision to pivot his career away from manufacturing and focus on innovation and marketing. Josh set his sights on growth through education and moved to Glasgow, Scotland to pursue an international MBA with the University of Strathclyde.
During his master’s studies, he developed a deep appreciation and passion for working with entrepreneurs. Upon graduation in 2011, he co-founded a strategic marketing business aimed at providing bespoke service to the UK SME market. Josh spent several rewarding years helping entrepreneurs in the UK launch well over 150 new start-ups. He joined the University of Strathclyde as the inhouse Enterprise Manager and went on to design, implement and market the establishment of a Scottish Government funded, high growth pipeline of support for PhD and master level students.
In 2016 Josh moved back to the Pacific Northwest and has remained close to the local start-up community since his return. He led operations and marketing as the Director of Operations for Cinetopia LLC, and gained a unique insight into local consumer behavior as the District Manager for a family-owned local retail franchise.
Josh is a sports enthusiast who spends his winters snowboarding and plays year-round basketball for a league in Portland. He also takes pride in being the designated family “chef” and loves grilling up unique flavor combinations for his wife and two little boys. Rain or shine, you can find Josh outside on either his BBQ or smoker cooking dishes that range from brisket to grilled cheese sandwiches.

Ramsey Chamie worked with me for the purchase of my business, and I kept him on for my home purchase as well. His follow through was prompt, meticulous, and he spoke to me in just the way I needed. I already have recommended his work to others and would not hesitate to do so again.

Needed to dissolve a business and sell an asset. NWCL responded quickly, created the contracts in a timely manner, and I was confidently able to accomplish what I needed to get done. A very painless, easy, and professional experience.

What truly sets NW Corporate Law apart is their approachability. Despite their vast knowledge and expertise, Josh and Eli are incredibly easy to talk to and never intimidating. They create a welcoming atmosphere where every question is valued, and every concern is addressed thoughtfully.

I cannot recommend NWCL enough.... The process of starting and buying a small business can be a stressful, scary, and overwhelming task. Having an attorney who is calm, confident, funny, humble, intelligent, kind, knowledgable, well spoken and just an overall good person makes all the difference in the world. Ramsey went above and beyond any and all expectations.
